Van’s birthday and RTÉ1 radio interview with music and song (listen again)!
Hello, how are you all doing? I have been busy,busy busy!
Just to let you know that Altan were invited to share a cover of the wonderful Van Morrison’s song “Whenever God Shines His Light on Me’ for Irish music magazine HotPress’ Youtube celebration of his 75th birthday, which falls on August 31st.
We had such a wonderful time, exploring how we would approach such an iconic song, and we are really happy with the finished product. You should check it out on August 31st on HotPress’ Youtube channel and tell us what you think!
We love extending the boundaries of music, even though we play traditional Irish music, it’s good to get recognition from every genre as I personally feel that there is only two types of music; good and bad!!

I flew to Dublin did the show more or less live and recorded on the spot and was back home by 2:45PM the same day!
