Ag súil go mór le seasúr an tSamhraidh!

Altan are busy with the Orchestra project… we’ve finished the recording process and now we’re looking forward to the DVD recording on August 14th in the NCH, Dublin.

I will also be playing a few gigs over the Summer with Manus Lunny and Tristan Rosenstock to promote my new CD ‘Imeall‘.

This week I’m delighted to be going into the studio with Moya Brennan, Maighread and Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill; “T with the Maggies”… it should be great fun!!!!

27/04/09 Ryan Tubridy Show

The Ryan Tubridy radio show is coming from the Old Barracks in Falcarragh on Friday, 1st of May. Mairéad and Manus Lunny have been invited to be guests, so listen this Friday and send a message to wish them well!!

Mairéad is also playing at The Cup of Tae Festival in Ardara on the evening of May 1st. The concert will celebrate the late James Byrne, a fine fiddler and good friend of Mairéad’s, who passed away in the prime of his youth last November.

Also in news, Altan are travelling to France on Wednesday, May 6th to play a concert in St. Nazaire near Nantes, just before going into the studio to record a new CD with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra which they are looking forward to!!! Stay tuned for more!

Tá mé ag  súil go mór páirt a ghlacadh i bhFéile Raiftearaí i mBaile Locha Riach, Co na Gaillimhe ag an deireadh seachtaine seo.

Manus Lunny  of Capercaille fame will be accompanying me on bouzouki and guitar and we will be performing pieces from my debut CD, Imeall.

I hope that you will come out and support us on the night!!!

09/02/09 ‘Imeall’ now available

Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh first solo project, ‘Imeall’, is available now to buy. The limited edition collection features stunning traditional songs in Gaelic and in English and three songs written by Mairéad herself. The album is available in the Music section of the website, and will also be downloadable soon. Imeall will be launched in Dublin on Wednesday.
