Dear Mairead,
I am working with the London College of Music (LCM) to establish a repertoire for Irish traditional singing for the graded exams up to grade 8. Maeve McKeown of County Antrim suggested that you might be able to help. If you would be willing to assist in this project, please let me know and I will send you further detaails.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Valerie E. Cameron
I was a bit late in hearing about Imeall, having only discovered its existence this evening. Congratulations Mairead! This is very exciting for me,to hear new music from you;I have waited a long time for this opportunity. Your photo of Errigal behind you in your website really tugged at my heart,as I remember wandering through Gweedore and all of northern Donegal in the summer of 1988,walking with my big backpack and enjoying the intense beauty of my favorite part of Ireland. (I first saw Altan play at the Ballyshannon Folk Festival in August of 1988,and became a lifetime fan.)If I could do it all again,I would do it in a heartbeat! I hope that you will return to the U.S. again soon, and please come to Colorado, the only place I know that is as beautiful as Ireland. I would be grateful if you would keep me informed of your and Altan's news and upcoming events. All the best, and thanks so much for this album!! Ben Tiffany
Mairead,
I bought your solo CD when you came to play at the Wolftrap Barns in Virginia back in Janaury. All these months later, I am still listening to it regularly and I am quite impressed with the sound and feel of this CD. Your autographed CD sits on display in my living room and will be a cherished part of my music collection. Thank you for the beautiful music you make a perform for Altan and as a soloist.
Regards,
Ronnie Guimond
Hi there Mairead it's ure cousin Marcia from Australia. I was so sad to hear about Francie. Liam crawford emailed me and told of his funeral. I am delighted to see you have a solo album out now and enjoyed listening to the tracks.
All Altan fans here in Aist. are dying for you to come out again, the concert at the opera house was fabulous, a festival would be even better though so we could get down and holler with you. please consider coming out again soo, the weather is really nice. Cheers for now, Marcia
