Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh concert and TV appearances (12/12/08)

Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh will be performing a very intimate concert along with Manus Lunny, who co-produced Mairéad’s first solo project ‘Imeall’ at the annual Scoil Gheimhridh Frankie Kennedy – the Frankie Kennedy Winter School. Mairéad will be performing songs from her first solo project in Ionad Naomh Pádraig in Dobhar, Donegal. For more information on the concert, please check the ‘Gigs‘ page. The Frankie Kennedy Winter school will also be host to Altan, Mary McPartlan, Frankie Gavin and Máirtín O’Connor, all in memory of the fun, friendly and true Frankie Kennedy. Mairéad will also join Altan on two Irish television programmes over the Christmas period which will include instrumentals and songs. The first is to be broadcast on BBC NI. The programme was filmed live at the BBC Proms, which Altan headlined just over a month ago. For more information, please check the press release here. The second broadcast will be on RTÉ. The programme was filmed live in St. Patrick’s Cathedral and will also feature Belfast’s Duke Special and the RTÉ concert orchestra. More information is available on RTÉ.
